ShootProof pricing explained (2026): the switch from photo counts to GB
Every ShootProof plan before and after the 23 September 2026 switch to GB: monthly and annual prices, archiving and add-on costs, and the plan 20 to 40 weddings a year needs.
ShootProof is changing how it charges. Until 23 September 2026 its plans are measured in photos online; from that date they are measured in gigabytes, video hosting is added, and the prices stay the same. This page shows both, what the switch means for an existing account, and which plan a wedding photographer needs. Sources: shootproof.com/plans on 12 September 2026 and the ShootProof help center’s Photo Plan Change FAQ, updated 26 August 2026. Prices in US dollars.
Plans until 23 September 2026
| Plan | Monthly | Billed annually | Photos online at once | ShootProof’s capacity estimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 100 | up to 5 GB |
| 1,500 Plan | $9.99 | $8.33 a month | 1,500 | up to 75 GB |
| 5,000 Plan | $19.99 | $16.67 a month | 5,000 | up to 250 GB |
| 25,000 Plan | $31.99 | $26.67 a month | 25,000 | up to 1,250 GB |
| Unlimited | $60 | $50 a month | Unlimited | Unlimited, archiving included |
ShootProof’s own line: the only difference between the photo plans is storage capacity. The count is photos online at once across unlimited galleries, so expiring or archiving a gallery frees the count.

What the switch means
Existing accounts move automatically to the equivalent plan. If you are storing more than the new plan allows, ShootProof moves you up and discounts the bigger plan to your current price for one year.
The GB caps look smaller than the old estimates, and for some photographers they are. 1,500 photos was estimated at up to 75 GB; Starter holds 20 GB. But that estimate assumed 50 MB a photo. As a rule of thumb a delivered wedding JPEG is 5 to 10 MB, so 1,500 photos is 7 to 15 GB and fits Starter, 5,000 is 25 to 50 GB and fits Standard, and 25,000 is 125 to 250 GB, a quarter of Professional. The photographers who lose are those uploading very large files. The photographers who gain deliver many small files, because the photo count is gone.
Video arrives, but its go-live date is stated only as September, and per-file limits are not published. Ask before promising a couple their film.
What changes between tiers
Paid plans differ in storage and in how video is counted; everything else is in every paid plan: unlimited galleries, commission-free selling, 24/7 support, international labs, your logo and watermark, download controls, slideshows and reels, e-sign contracts, invoicing with tipping, multiple brands and users, and no ShootProof branding. The only feature that changes above Starter is the video split: a shared pool on Starter and Standard, a separate cap on Professional, Advanced and Premium.
Photo archiving is included on Premium. On every other plan it is paid.
The hidden costs
Archiving. Archived media does not count against your plan. It costs $2.99 a month for the first 25 GB and 5 cents per additional gigabyte. Archiving 100 GB is $6.74 a month. Stepping up from Standard to Professional costs $120 a year, or $10 a month, so archiving is the cheaper move until you have about 165 GB in the archive. Past that, upgrade. On Premium, photo archiving is free but video archiving is charged at the standard rate.
Booking. Online client booking is an add-on at $4.99 a month on any plan: a booking landing page, integrated contracts and invoices, automated emails, Google Calendar and questionnaires.
Payment processing. ShootProof takes 0% on prints, products, digital files and invoice payments, on every plan including Free, but you connect your own payment gateway, and the gateway’s fee is between you and the gateway. ShootProof Pay, for US photographers, adds Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Sales tax is charged on subscriptions in about 20 US states.
No refunds. Plan purchases are non-refundable. The 14-day trial needs no card, so use it before you prepay a year.
Not published: per-file upload limits, bandwidth caps, RAW handling, and whether a migration-in service exists.
Which plan for 20 to 40 weddings a year
Call a finished wedding gallery 5 GB as a rule of thumb (600 to 800 full-resolution JPEGs at 3 to 6 GB). See how much storage wedding galleries take.
- 20 weddings, galleries live for 12 months, no video: about 100 GB. Standard fits, just, and archiving at $2.99 covers the overflow.
- 20 weddings with a film each: the films share Standard’s 100 GB. At 2 GB a film, that is 40 GB gone. Standard no longer fits.
- 30 to 40 weddings: 150 to 200 GB a year. Professional at $319.99 a year gives 1,000 GB of photos plus 50 GB of video on its own cap, enough for 5 years at 40 weddings without archiving.
For most photographers in that range, Professional is the plan. It is $120 a year more than Standard and removes the storage question for years. Standard works for 20 weddings or fewer with no video, if you expire galleries at 12 months or archive them. Advanced and Premium are for studios that keep everything online for the long term, and Premium’s included photo archiving is the reason to pick it over Advanced.
What the free plan is missing
Until 23 September, 100 photos, which is not a wedding. After it, 3 GB, about half a wedding gallery. No video on either. No e-sign contracts, no invoicing, one brand only, and the mobile gallery app covers 5 galleries. What it does have is unusual for a free plan: your logo and watermark, unlimited galleries, a commission-free store, email marketing, sales reports, multiple users and 1-1 phone support. It is a working store for an engagement session or a mini session, not a delivery plan for weddings.
Compared with the others
Pixieset vs ShootProof and Pic-Time vs ShootProof put these plans against the nearest rivals. In short: ShootProof is the only one of the three with zero commission on every plan and contracts in every paid plan, it has the most plan steps, and it is $4 to $40 a year dearer than Pixieset at each matching tier.
Where FOCL fits
We make FOCL, so weigh this section accordingly. FOCL Galleries meters storage only: 3 GB free, 100 GB for $10 a month or $100 a year, 500 GB for $19 or $190, 2 TB for $39 or $390, with unlimited galleries and couples, no download or bandwidth cap, hours of video on paid plans (3, 10 or 30) with up to 30 GB per file, and the FOCL wedding-day app on the same subscription. Against ShootProof that is the same 3 GB on the free plan, more storage at the $10 and $20 tiers, a 500 GB step ShootProof lacks, and video that is live now, metered in hours. FOCL has no contracts or invoicing, no email marketing, no archive tier, no branded client apps and no unlimited plan, and its store is one lab (WHCC) with a markup you set, so if the business tools decided it, ShootProof is the better fit. The direct comparison is in FOCL vs ShootProof.
