Comparison
Pic-Time vs ShootProof for wedding photographers (2026)
Pic-Time and ShootProof compared at matching prices: storage, video, downloads, commission, branding, business tools, and ShootProof's switch to GB plans on 23 September 2026.
Pic-Time and ShootProof are both built around selling from the gallery. Pic-Time takes a commission on most plans and gives you a deep sales toolkit around it. ShootProof takes no commission on any plan and gives you contracts and invoices instead. Prices are from pic-time.com/pricing, shootproof.com/plans and both help centers, checked on 12 September 2026. One date matters: on 23 September 2026 ShootProof moves from photo-count plans to gigabyte plans and adds video hosting, with prices unchanged. This page uses the new plans, from ShootProof’s Photo Plan Change FAQ (updated 26 August 2026).
Pricing at matching price points
Pic-Time quotes annual billing per month; ShootProof quotes a yearly total, so Pic-Time’s yearly total is added in parentheses.
| Price point | Pic-Time Client Delivery Suite | ShootProof from 23 September 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 10 GB of photos, 1 GB of video, 15% store commission | 3 GB, photos only, no commission |
| $7 to $10 a month | Beginner: 20 GB of photos, 5 GB of video. $8 monthly or $7 billed annually ($84 a year) | Starter: 20 GB shared by photos and video. $9.99 monthly or $99.99 a year |
| $17 to $25 a month | Professional: 100 GB of photos, 30 GB of video. $25 monthly or $21 billed annually ($252 a year) | Standard: 100 GB shared by photos and video. $19.99 monthly or $199.99 a year |
| $27 to $32 a month | No plan at this level | Professional: 1,000 GB of photos plus 50 GB of video. $31.99 monthly or $319.99 a year |
| $42 to $52 a month | Advanced: unlimited photos within fair use, 60 GB of video. $50 monthly or $42 billed annually ($504 a year) | Advanced: 2,000 GB of photos plus 100 GB of video. $51.99 monthly or $519.99 a year |
| $50 to $60 a month | No plan at this level | Premium: unlimited photos plus 150 GB of video. $60 monthly or $600 a year |
At the bottom Pic-Time is $16 a year cheaper and keeps video in its own pool. At 100 GB ShootProof is $52 a year cheaper, but photos and video share it; Pic-Time’s 100 GB is photos only, with 30 GB of video beside it. Between 100 GB and unlimited only ShootProof has plans. At the top, Pic-Time Advanced ($504 a year) is cheaper than ShootProof Advanced ($519.99) and Premium ($600), and Pic-Time’s “unlimited” is fair use: usage above 20 GB per gallery or 100 GB of bandwidth a month may incur additional fees.
Until 23 September, ShootProof counts photos online at once (100 free, then 1,500, 5,000, 25,000 and unlimited) at the same prices; existing accounts move to the equivalent plan, and anyone over the new cap is moved up at their current price for a year.
Storage and video
Pic-Time hosts video now, in a pool separate from photos: 1 GB on Free, 5 GB on Beginner, 30 GB on Professional, 60 GB on Advanced, up to 4K. Add-ons run from 100 GB ($10 a month billed annually) to 5 TB ($60), with a launch discount on annual prices.
ShootProof adds video with the September plans: none on Free, one shared pool on Starter and Standard, and a separate cap of 50, 100 and 150 GB on Professional, Advanced and Premium. Video is up to 4K and downloads as the original or 1080p; a firm launch date and per-file limits are not published.
For films with every wedding, Pic-Time is the safer pick today: it is live, the pool is separate at every tier, and add-ons scale to 5 TB against ShootProof’s 150 GB ceiling.
Downloads
ShootProof publishes its download rules in detail: up to 4 free-download rules per gallery, each with its own size, optional 6-digit PIN, print release, per-visitor limit and watermark. It is built for “3 free downloads, then buy the rest”. Bandwidth caps are not published.
Pic-Time states no bandwidth cap below Advanced; Advanced’s 100 GB a month is a 10 GB gallery downloaded 10 times.
Store and commission
Pic-Time charges on your markup only, never on lab cost: 15% on Free and Beginner, 8% on Professional, 6% on Advanced when Pic-Time collects the payment, and nothing on Professional or Advanced if you collect it yourself. On Free and Beginner the 15% applies regardless. The rates are from a help article dated April 2025. The store has more than 30 labs, coupons, gift cards and automated tax on every plan, album proofing from Professional and an AI album designer on Advanced.
ShootProof takes nothing on any plan, including Free, on prints, products, digital files and invoice payments, once you connect a payment gateway. The store has packages, promo codes, price sheets, abandoned-cart reminders, automated email campaigns and international labs.
$1,000 of print markup in a year costs $150 on Pic-Time Beginner, $80 on Professional ($0 if you collect payments yourself), $60 on Advanced, and $0 on every ShootProof plan.
Branding and domains
Pic-Time puts nothing of yours on Free: logo and watermark start on Beginner; custom domain, Pic-Time branding removed, and custom fonts and colors on Professional; multi-brand on Advanced at $6 a month per extra brand.
ShootProof puts your logo and watermark on the free plan and calls its galleries white-labeled from the start; “no ShootProof branding” is listed among paid-plan features. Every plan has a simple portfolio website, and galleries can sit on a custom subdomain of your own site.
Business tools
Pic-Time has no CRM but connects to HoneyBook, Studio Ninja, Iris Works, Light Blue and Pixifi on every plan. Sales automations and Lightroom upload are on every plan, a vendor network from Professional, and a migration service on paid plans. Client-facing smart search (keyword, face, selfie) is Advanced only.
ShootProof includes e-sign contracts and invoicing in every paid plan, and sells online booking for $4.99 a month. Email marketing and 1-1 phone support are on every plan including Free. Archiving takes old galleries off plan storage from $2.99 a month. Face search is not in our ShootProof notes.
Who each is for
Pic-Time suits a photographer who sells prints and albums hard, delivers films now, wants face search for guests, or already runs HoneyBook.
ShootProof suits a photographer who wants zero commission from the first sale, contracts and invoices without a second subscription, cheap archiving, or a plan between 100 GB and unlimited.
The verdict, by situation
Free: Pic-Time for storage, 10 GB against 3 GB. ShootProof for a store you can run on a free plan: your logo, no commission, phone support.
Under $10 a month: Pic-Time Beginner if you sell nothing from the gallery. ShootProof Starter if you sell anything or need contracts, because 15% on every markup outweighs $16 a year.
Around 100 GB: ShootProof Standard for the lower price and the business tools. Pic-Time Professional for the custom domain, separate video, vendor network and a commission of 8% or zero.
1 TB to 2 TB: ShootProof Professional or Advanced. Pic-Time has no plan there.
Unlimited: Pic-Time Advanced for guest face search and the AI album designer, inside the fair-use limits. ShootProof Premium for zero commission and included photo archiving.
